Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Vyal ("Vyal", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Vyal iOS app. Vyal is built privacy-first: by default, your conversation data never leaves your iPhone.

1. Microphone audio

When a session is active, Vyal uses your iPhone's microphone to transcribe the conversation in real time using Apple's on-device Speech framework. Audio is processed only in memory during the session and is discarded as soon as the session ends. Vyal never records, saves, or transmits raw audio.

2. Data stored on your device

The following information is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData:

• Call records (contact name, company, duration, date, transcript text, coaching scores)
• Your playbook and coaching preferences
• App settings

You can delete any record from within the app at any time. Uninstalling Vyal removes all locally stored data.

3. AI engine

Default - Apple Intelligence (on-device)

When the default engine is selected, all AI coaching runs on-device via Apple Intelligence. No conversation data is sent over the network.

Optional - bring your own cloud API key

You may optionally configure your own API key for Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or Google Gemini. In that case, short text excerpts (never raw audio) are sent over encrypted HTTPS to the provider you selected, so they can return coaching suggestions. Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.

Any data you send to a third-party AI provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms. You can switch back to fully on-device processing at any time in Settings.

4. Sign in with Apple

When you sign in with Apple, Vyal receives an opaque Apple-provided user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name. This information is stored on your device (Keychain) to keep you signed in. Vyal supports Apple's "Hide My Email" feature and never receives your Apple ID password.

You may also continue as a guest or use a demo account.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are sold and processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Vyal does not see or store your payment card details. You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

6. What we do not do

• No analytics SDKs
• No advertising identifiers
• No third-party tracking
• No cross-app tracking
• We do not sell your data. Ever.

7. Account and data deletion

You can delete your account and all locally stored data at any time inside the app: Settings > Account > Delete Account. Uninstalling Vyal also removes all locally stored data from your device. See our Account Deletion page for details.

8. Children

Vyal is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL.
